Once decided, he is firm in his standing and will not alter his choice, even in extreme circumstances. One might even stay he's mulish. Dante is also extremely flighty, at the first sign of danger he is in the wind. This is due to his young age and the fact that he is highly aware of what strength - or lack there of - belongs to him. He was raised to be wary of predators, and thus is cautious when in a pack's territory. Often times he seems standoffish to other equines, but it is merely Dante trying to keep himself from harm's way. If he doesn't trod on another stallion's hooves, no one will feel the need to chase him off or attempt to bite and kick him senseless.

[bg=cccfd8][atrb=border,0,true][cs=2] HISTORY: Before he was on his own, Dante ran in a herd with his dam. Although he doesn't think much about his short past, he relies on what the mare taught him. As a young colt, he learned to step lightly, be careful of what he ate, and above all else, to remain ever alert to his surroundings. The days flew by and with each one that passed, Dante filled out his frame more. By the time he was a yearling, his father had been eyeing him for some time. It was only a short wait until the stud decided he could not tolerate the younger's presence any longer, and Dante was chased off into the vast world. Now he stays in the shadows, ever watchful of those around him. He appears hesitant, even cowardly to others, but he is merely thinking of self preservation. The yearling colt has no real friends, due to keeping himself at a safe distance. He is unwilling to pick fights with stallions over land, and so when noticed, he simply moves on to the next place. Almost six months after being forced to leave his home, Dante is still searching for a new land to reside in. He believes he may have found such a thing in Perni Viryn.

Long, tassels of cream lay over his sun-kissed shoulders and across his lanky flank. Flaring nostrils searched for the danger he'd scented not moments before. Never in his short life hand he caught the odor, but the young one knew it could be naught but a hunter. Wild, white rimmed eyes cast about the grassy ravine, rolling in their sockets. He could panic, he could fear, but he must be silent. A single snort could release the creature that watched him from an unknown locale. Muscles taunt with the need to flee, were ready to fly him beyond the foggy skyline. The beast was waiting, watching for the misstep that would be his prey's ruin. Hindquarters jittery with the urge to burst away from the threat, and his back braced for the impact that would surely come, the colt's coppery body broke from its terrified reverie. In the same instant, the wild cat launched from his camouflage, claws extended and fangs bared. Those wicked talons caught flesh, and for a brief second, the fur of the yearling's coat resisted. And then it tore. Pain. Never ending, all consuming pain flooded through him, but Dante's shying frame pulled him away on quivering legs. Youthful, lacking the power of a full blown stallion, he was not as strong, but he was fast. Hooves ripped the dewy grass from its roots, leaving upturned earth to meet the sun. He was prepared to commit any act that would allow him to escape. Behind him, death and before him, uncertainty. Wide eyes found the possibility of safety in a ledge. No creature would drive itself from such a vantage in its right mind. But that was neither here nor there, as he pushed himself harder. It was leap or fall, his choice. In an act of desperation, his slim legs pulled themselves up under his belly, and he flew.
