OUT OF CHARACTER

• AGE: As per Proboards ToS, you must be 13 years of age or older to register on Aplidium.
  
• RESPECT: Everyone on the site should be shown respect at all times. If you don't like someone, ignore them or let a staff member know what's going on. Likewise, if any staff member gives you directions, you are expected to follow them without complaint.
  
• SEPARATION: IC behaviors and attitudes should not be taken into OOC. Keep in mind that when someone is roleplaying, they are acting the part of a character, which is likely very different from what they are like in real life. Having a problem with someone's character should not cause you to have a problem with them.
  
• PG-13: Anything posted in the c-box or discussion boards should be PG-13. There is to be no discussion of sexual topics, religion, politics, drugs/alcohol, or violence/gore. Don't say it, don't show it, just don't post it.
  

POSTING

• ACCOUNT: You should have one account, and only one account. This serves as your OOC account as well as your posting account for all of your characters.
  
• WORD COUNT: The minimum word count for a post is 200 words. This is not hard to achieve in the least, and you will only be allowed to slide by with less occasionally. In addition, try not to make the majority of your posts dialogue OR senseless babbling. You don't need to write 800 words to answer one question from another character, so keep it to the point and I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
  
• LITERATE: We strive for literacy here at Aplidium. Everyone makes typos or mistakes now and then, but your posts should still be literate. You should use proper punctuation, capital letters, grammar, and spelling. Changing the spelling of words for dialects/accents is fine, but you shouldn't be using chat speak. Ex: "They's jus' somethin' 'bout her..." is okay. "Theyz juz sumtin bout hurr..." is not.
  
• REALISM: Aplidium is a realistic animal site! Your characters can talk to one another, but understanding between different species is slim. In addition, try to give them realistic motives as well.
  
• NO FUNNY BUSINESS: No god-modding or power-playing is allowed, with the exception of some slight allowances for this in fights. You control your character, and only your character. In addition, unless a character specifically tells or demonstrates something, your character should not be all knowing! They don't know what others are thinking or planning. Just because YOU know it from reading a post about another character's thoughts doesn't mean your character knows it.
  
• IMAGES: Images used within your threads should be no wider than 550px. There is not a limit on length, but unless the image is your posting table, it should not be overpowering. (Yes, tables have a maximum of 550px in width as well.)
